We’re Lewisham’s waterpolo community. It all began when swimming teachers Martyn and Gabor brought a waterpolo ball to a swimming lesson. The children loved it and wanted to play more. Our first tournament was a challenge, but the team had a great time. With regular training, the players grew in confidence and went on to win trophies, including the London League U12 Championship. Some have progressed to higher-level pathways, and the team has enjoyed training camps abroad, including in Hungary. Above all, we’ve grown into a welcoming community where young people from all backgrounds can build friendships, develop their skills and enjoy the sport together.
